A última vez que teve tanto destaque assim foi quando ainda estava no Vasco e se tornou um dos nomes do último título carioca do Cruz-Maltino, em 2016.
Mas, afinal, seria o início de Nenê nas Laranjeiras melhor ou pior do que foi o seu começo em São Januário alguns anos atrás?
Assim como no Fluminense, sua chegada ao Vasco também foi no meio de uma temporada. Ou seja, nos dois casos ele disputou a Série A do Campeonato Brasileiro, Carioca e Copa do Brasil – a única diferença foram os quatro jogos que fez pela Sul-Americana em 2019 e 2020.
O destaque de Nenê em 2020 contrasta com o rendimento após sua chegada às Laranjeiras. No ano passado, ele estufou as redes apenas três vezes e deu três assistências em 27 jogos. Somando com os 12 gols e um passe para um companheiro marcar na atual temporada, seus números acumulados em 39 partidas são:

Diferente de sua chegada ao rival, Nenê teve um impacto imediato no Vasco em 2015. Com nove gols e cinco assistências em 23 jogos, foi o principal responsável pela reação que por pouco não conseguiu o milagre de evitar um já iminente rebaixamento no Brasileiro. Desde que deixou o Vasco, Nenê já enfrentou o seu ex-clube quatro vezes, duas pelo São Paulo e duas já pelo Fluminense. Não dá nem para saber se vai comemorar ou não se fizer gol, já que ele nunca marcou sobre o Cruz-Maltino. Será que o jejum termina neste domingo?
O meia não costumava brilhar nos clássicos pelo São Paulo, mas no Fluminense parece ter tomado o gosto de ser carrasco dos rivais neste início de 2020. Em três jogos contra Flamengo e Botafogo, ele marcou três gols. Para manter a média, falta o Vasco.
