Em entrevista ao “Troca de Passes”, do canal SporTV, o secretário geral da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), Walter Feldman, contou que a entidade foi procurada por algumas federações com o intuito de cancelarem os campeonatos estaduais 2020. A CBF vem tentando evitar esse cenário, que afetaria nos critérios de classificação para a Série D do Campeonato Brasileiro.
– Nós vamos ajudar, orientar, mas existe uma realidade cuja deliberação deve se dar no plano estadual. Alguns, inclusive, pensam em cancelar os campeonatos. Para nós seria um problema, à medida em que os campeonatos estaduais têm uma incidência particularmente na Série D. Queremos que isso seja feito em processo de conexão, de sequência, e estamos orientando no sentido de que nenhum campeonato seja cancelado.
