Em entrevista ao jornal Globo, o presidente da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), Rogério Caboclo, confirmou as datas para o início do Campeonato Brasileiro séries A, B, C e D, além do retorno da Copa do Brasil.
As especulações sobre a volta da principal competição nacional no dia 9 de agosto se confirmaram. Assim como a Serie B, que iniciará um dia antes, junto das demais divisões (C e D) Já a Copa do Brasil, que foi interrompida na terceira, retornará dia 26.
– Na Série A, houve um voto dissidente sobre o mando, mas nenhuma dúvida se a competição vai começar ou não dia 9 de agosto. Brasileirão é algo definido e determinado. A Série B inicia no dia 8, na véspera. Definimos com a Série C que ela recomeçará na mesma data da B. A Copa do Brasil volta em 26 de agosto. – Disse o mandatário da CBF.
Caboclo confirmou também, que o calendário de 2020 “Vai invadir janeiro, fevereiro” de 2021. O objetivo da entidade máxima do futebol tupiniquim é conseguir ajustar o calendário até 2022 devido a Copa do Mundo no Qatar, que acontecerá entre novembro e dezembro.
– Nosso horizonte é a Copa do Mundo de 2022, marcada para começar em novembro. Obriga o nosso calendário a terminar pelo menos um mês antes, em outubro de 2022. Temos que encerrar 2020 na segunda quinzena de fevereiro, iniciar os estaduais na última semana do mesmo mês, o Brasileiro no final de maio de 2021 –
Sobre a conciliação do término dos estudais com o início do Brasileiro, Caboclo se considerou entusiasta, porém afirmou que a CBF não tem resposta para este caso, uma vez que eles se comportam dentro dos limites de cada estado.
Reiniciado de maneira açodada o Campeonato Carioca irá terminar no máximo dia 15 de julho – existe a possibilidade de ser encerrado na próxima quarta-feira (8), caso o Flamengo conquiste a Taça Rio – Com isso os clubes (Botafogo, Fluminense, Vasco e Flamengo) terão um período de 24 ou 31 dias de preparação até a primeira rodada do Brasileiro.
